Match Report: Yorkshire Post: 6th April 1920:
GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY v LEEDS UNITED.
At Gainsborough yesterday, before 3,000 spectators. For some time play was even, neither forward line being very convincing until 20 minutes when the
Leeds attack improved, and Butler sent in a long grounder which Ingall allowed to pass into the Gainsborough net. Coulbeck went through the Leeds defence
and a goal looked to be a certainty, but Rounds, came out and beat him to it. Just before the interval Copley put in a fine square centre and Coulbeck found
the Leeds net.
In the second half too much dribbling by both sets of forwards spoiled much of the playTrinity's second goal came from an overhead kick by Coulbeck,
put in from a the thick of a hot scrimmage in the goalmouth
